Overview

An IT Technician provides computer or network support for the company, either employees, clients or both. They assist users with installation, troubleshooting and diagnosing possible hardware and software issues.

Responsibilities

• Identify computer and network equipment shortages and makes orders
• Ensuring the computer hardware are functional
• Ensuring that the computers have appropriate software and function according to their specifications
• Setting up the workstation with computer hardware and necessary peripheral devices
• Maintain local networks in a way that achieves greater performance
• Does upgrades and maintenance without deterring others from completing work
• Maintains records of all the hardware, repairs and maintenance schedules
• Maintains backup of all files
• Assisting clients with their IT related issues
• Checks if clients have the appropriate IT environment

Qualifications

• +2 years’ experience as IT Technician
• Degree in Computer Science, engineering or relevant field
• In depth understanding of diverse computer systems and networks
• Good knowledge of internet security and data privacy principles
